Saab Key Programming
Saab cars manufactured since 1994 have an immobilizer system based on coded keys. The addition of a key requires a new transponder and special programming. This is usually handled by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key
The transponder can be described as a key equipped with an electronic chip. The chip transmits a signal when the key is inserted in the ignition. The car then checks the signal to see whether it is identical to the one on the key. If the signals are the same, the car will unlock itself and begin. Jump-starting the battery
Most people keep a few sets of jumper cables in their trunk for emergencies, but jumping a battery on newer vehicles may not be the most efficient option. These cars are equipped with a variety of computers and digital devices which communicate with one another. A voltage spike when a battery is hooked up to another one could damage these components and leave your car unable to drive.
Connect the cables to the vehicle that is working. Let it run for two minutes. Attach the red clip to the positive terminal on the battery that is good (it will have "POS" or "+" on it). Attach the other end to a clean unpainted metal surface under the hood of your disabled vehicle. The engine block is a great option. The black cable should not be connected to the negative terminal of the dead battery. This could result in a spark, which would ignite the gasoline that is in the engine compartment.
Once the cables are connected the vehicle you are not using and let it run for approximately five minutes before you disconnect them in reverse order.
